Hometour Tjeerd
In the Bomenbuurt; a typical 1930s neighborhood in The Hague located between the center of The Hague and the beach, Tjeerd Bloothoofd designed a rooftop addition on top of their existing apartment for his family. The neighborhood is characterized by brick facades, bay windows, ornaments and typical Hague porches. It is a nice neighborhood with many amenities within walking distance.

By raising the three-story brick building block, it was (financially) feasible to live larger in a nice place. With its steel materialization, the roof structure forms a contrast to the existing building block, but at the same time it is also a recognizable addition reminiscent of the classic Parisian roofs, which often consist of zinc roofs as a vertical termination of a brick structure.
The interior has a more cabin-like feel due to the angled birch wood ceilings and walls. Tonone's lamps, with their industrial and colorful appearance, fit seamlessly into this interior.
